Local detail
Fort Pierce is the St. Lucie County seat and one of the older towns on this stretch of coast, so its garages range from older single doors near downtown to newer homes in the subdivisions to the north and west. Older doors here often have extension springs and hardware that has been repaired several times, and some still lift by hand. Close to the Indian River Lagoon, the inlet and South Hutchinson Island, salt air shortens the life of springs, cables, hinges and fasteners, so on those homes we fit galvanized or coated parts. The City of Fort Pierce issues permits inside city limits and St. Lucie County everywhere else.

What we do here
Torsion springs do the lifting, so when one breaks the door feels like it weighs a ton and the opener gives up. We fit a matched pair sized to your door, balance it and test it by hand. Most spring jobs run $200 to $500 installed.
A frayed cable, a roller that has worn flat or a dented section of track will make a door jerk, grind or close crooked. We replace cables as a pair, fit sealed rollers and straighten or replace the track.
Stripped gears, dead logic boards, sensors knocked out of line and remotes that stopped pairing. Most opener repairs run $150 to $300, and a new belt, chain or wall mounted opener supplied and installed usually runs $350 to $650.
If the door is hanging crooked or a roller has left the track, leave it where it is and keep the opener unplugged. We secure the door, set it back on the track and check every hinge and bracket before we leave.
A new garage door needs a permit, an inspection and a Florida Product Approval for the wind pressure at your address. We pull the permit, prepare the paperwork for your HOA and install. Single doors typically run $700 to $2,000 installed, double doors $1,200 to $4,000.
We lubricate the springs and bearings, check the cables, rollers and hinges, tighten the hardware and test the auto reverse. It is the cheapest way to catch a tired spring before it breaks. Most tune ups run $90 to $150.
Garage door springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury or death if handled without the correct tools and training. Nothing on this page is instruction to repair one. Send us a request and we will handle it. Full safety notice.
